Happy New Year! It's time to move forward.

As you may have already guessed, my fund raising efforts to re-open a white water rafting company have totally failed.  I could write a lengthly blog post on the lessons I have learned along the way but, I am not.  I will be deleting this blog shortly and all company associated accounts such as our Facebook page, Youtube Channel, Flickr account and the such.

Our Flickr Pro membership ends June 17th, 2012.  You have until then to download the photos of your rafting adventure at full resolution.  I will not be renewing that account and all photos will be deleted.

Some interesting facts about our Flickr account.  We posted 15,215 photos over the course of 3 summer seasons and those photos to this date have received 250,919 views.  A quarter of a million people have looked at your rafting photos.  That's kind of fun to think about.

You are welcome to keep in touch with me and my endeavors which will include rafting and more through the social media mediums below.

Thanks again everyone.  It was a blessing and a curse and I would do it all over again.  Happy New Year!

Wild Water Adventures, LLC Rev³ Energy™ Drink Fund Raiser

If you are following this blog than you know we have a campaign to sell 10,000 cases of Rev³ Energy™ drink to raise enough funds to re-open our rafting company for the summer 2012 rafting season.

I love
Rev³ Energy™.  Rev³ Energy™ is my product of choice for giving me that needed boost without compromising my valuable health.  I can not stress enough to those who have not yet tried Rev³ Energy™ to give it a try.  Energy drinks have a bad wrap.  That's why there is Rev³ Energy™; a healthy solution to an ugly problem.

In addition to retailing
Rev³ Energy™, I will be retailing novelty T-shirts designed by yours truly.  I ran some numbers and I figured if every individual purchased a T-shirt and if every family or group purchased a case of healthy Rev³ Energy™drink then we would be back in business in no time.

So here is the deal... I am going to run a 6 week campaign from July 1st to the middle of August which was our core rafting season, in other words, our busiest time of year.  If we are able to raise a significant amount of funds in that 6 week period then, I know all of you, our river friends, past and perhaps future clients have cast your vote and are willing to contribute to bring the river company back.  If that be the case, I commit to you now that I will do everything in my power to revive this rafting company.

Please consider helping us revive our river rafting company.  Order a T-shirt; purchase a case of delicious Rev³ Energy™.  Post the video above to your facebook wall, or twitter feed, email, text it, pass it around anyway you can.  It all helps and you can contribute by spreading the word.

Sincerely, I thank you for your support and contribution.  Running this company and meeting all of you has been a true blessing for me.  Thank you... Thank you.

Cheers!

We are Going for it!

Greetings my river rafting friends!  After a fair amount of time pondering, thought, consult, and consideration.  I have decided to move forward in promoting and raising funds for a new White Water Rafting Company!  So... what am I doing about my pulmonary embolism?  As of the moment all looks well.  My body is responding well to the medication and I expect to be off the medication in 3 to 6 months if test results are in my favor.
River Guide Larry
Regardless, I would be more than happy to run the rafting company while providing seasonal work for locals such as students.  Although I love to guide and would not trade that experience for anything in the world, I also have great skilled river guides that feel the same way as I do and they don't want to throw in the towel either.  In this region there is always a need for summer work; with the University of Oregon and Lane Community Collage near by.  One of the top three objects I set forth when I took over the company was to provide fair paying local jobs.  I still hold true to that objective.

So... We need to raise money to open doors.  If you are following this blog than you know we have a campaign to sell 10,000 cases of Rev³ Energy™ drink to raise enough funds to re-open our rafting company.

I heart
Rev³ Energy™.  I always will.  Rev³ Energy™ is my product of choice for giving me that need boast without compromising my valuable health.  I can not stress enough to those who have not yet tried Rev³ Energy™, you are missing out on a fabulous energy boosting drink.  Energy drinks have a bad wrap.  That's why there is Rev³ Energy™; a healthy solution to an ugly problem.

I will continue to promote Rev³ Energy™ as our flagship product to raise funds for the opening of our new river rafting company but, I had an idea and I want to go with it.  There is now another way to help raise funds to revive our rafting company.  Specialty made apparel designed by yours truly.  Oh yeah... this is no pro job, just fun rafting T-shirts that go well with everything.  Well OK... I didn't design the clothing but, I did design the stuff printed on the T's and other articles.  I have enlisted the help of Cafe Press to open a clothing store.

First design for the taking!
"I went rafting with this guy
and survived!"
I feel strongly about not taking straight donations.  I want folks who contribute funds to our cause to be rewarded with something.  A case of Rev³ Energy™ is certainly a reward.  A fun T-shirt, sweatshirt, hat, or even underwear is a reward.  Contribute money to help revive our rafting company and you get something in return.

The store is in it's infancy but, new designs and additional products will be added in time.  Follow us on twitter or facebook to find out what's new and what's not.  IMPORTANT!  Not all designs will last forever.  If you like what you see, than you better buy it.  I will add new designs and take down old ones.  These fine pieces of art are limited editions. ; )

Cheers!

Unprovoked Pulmonary Embolism

It's been a while since my last post. You maybe wondering where I have been? Well... I did have big plans for the new year with lots of ideas for new posts... but, I had some complications over the Holidays.

I was diagnosed with an unprovoked pulmonary embolism January 7th, 2011. You can learn more here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pulmonary_embolism ...The short of it is that I had blood clots (deep vein thrombosis) form in my leg, break free, move through my blood stream, and settle in my lungs. An embolism can be fatal but, I was fortunate enough not to suffer that fate.

I tell the whole tale over at my new personal blog: Link coming soon.

So what does this all mean and why do I even bring it up?

Treatment for an embolism is a process of waiting patiently for my body to break down the clots so that the blood can flow freely through my lungs so that I can breathe freely. However in the mean time, I am to take anticoagulant medication to prevent further growth of the current clots and to prevent the formation of new clots. This is good and bad. It's good because this is how I get better. It's bad because while I am on the anticoagulants my blood will clot at a very slow rate. While on the medication it is imperative that I take extreme caution to NOT get hurt. No contact sports. A deep bruise or broken arm can be fatal. I could bleed out before receiving medical attention. Even a simple nose bleed could be dangerous.

Needless to say, white water rafting is very much so a contact sport. My caregivers agree... no more rafting. Of course, this only applies while I am on the medication. But, here is my problem, my pulmonary embolism was unprovoked. Meaning, there is no clear evidence or reason why I had clots in my leg in the first place. If I had a clear cause for the clots such as I recently had surgery or I recently went on a long airplane flight, we could easily address those situations and avoid them in the future. My prognosis is that my clotting is hereditary and that I may need to be on anticoagulants for life. As you can see this puts a damper on my rafting career.

This is certainly not the end. My hospital stay and the months of treatment hereafter are just the necessary steps to care for my current condition. I hope to be off the medication as soon as possible however, this could be as early as 6 months or as late as 12 months depending how fast my body absorbs the existing clots and whether or not I form new clots.

All this was coming at me so fast. It was hard to adsorb. I had never really understood what an embolism was prior to my experience and I certainly had no idea how it was treated. Once I began to understand the treatment and then the effects of the medication I was taking, I knew then this was no way to live. I was not ready to throw in the towel on my passions and lifestyle. I went searching for answers.

Don't get me wrong, the hospital staff and my primary physician have been very helpful and willing to address all of my concerns and questions that I have had. But, unfortunately, I feel like I have been clumped up in a stack of statistics. I was told at one point that I may just be "one of the unlucky ones." No offense but, I don't care to be one of the unlucky ones. Fortunately I knew of a place where my Mother went several years ago and had a life changing experience. This place was Sanoviv Medical Institute, where conventional medicine
meets holistic medicine. I went online and scheduled a phone consultation. The call was welcomed. We discussed my many options and designed a plan of action. As for the immediate future, my course is set. I must recover. What I am doing now is what must be done but, there are things I can do, and will do, to determine if my clots are provoked or not. I have options.

What does this mean in regard to my efforts to revive our rafting company?
Honestly, it doesn't look good for us to be back in the saddle by summer 2011. It is hard for me to say this. It is possible I could be on an anticoagulant for a year. However, this does not mean I am giving up and I hope none of you give up on me. I am passionate about rafting. It is in my blood. No matter what challenges I face in life, I know I will find a way to raft around them. I also feel very passionate and driven to share the rafting experience with others. I feel natural in a boat full of strangers and even more so in a boat full of friends. All this means is that I have more time to accumulate funding to build our new company. I still need help from the internet masses.

2012 will be a great year to open our doors. In the summer of 2012 Eugene Oregon will host the Olympic track trials. There will be thousands of guests visiting Eugene and I would like to be there offering local white water rafting tours. Lets make it happen. Thank you for your support and your time. Please feel free to make comments or ask me questions. I am still the ol' river guide ready to serve.

Thanks everyone!

How to enjoy Hot Rev³ Energy Surge™

Although Rev³ Energy Surge™ was designed to drop into a water bottle to give you a boost of healthy energy on the go, it turns out the light tea flavor of Rev³ Energy Surge™ tastes delicious as a hot drink.

Just add a squeeze of fresh lemon with a dab of natural honey and Rev³ Energy Surge™ to a mug of hot water; stir and enjoy. Rev³ Energy Surge™ is wonderful on a cold day. I particularly found Rev³ Energy Surge™ helpful when feeling under the weather. Nothing like a healthy "pick me up" without the crash and burn of other energy drinks when feeling less than your best.

Rev³ Energy Surge™, a great winter treat.*
